A message of love from the Father:
God, how do you see me? Who do you say that I am?
Who you are is who I say you are. You are my beloved, my precious one, my child. I protect you with the same worry and love that only a mother who has lost her child knows. When you are lost, I am not angry; I am desperate to find you, to hold you again, to tell you that I love you. It does not matter that you left and disobeyed me. Love has ravished my heart.
This is God’s heart for those who have turned their backs on Him, disowning and forsaking Him. How much more will He care for those who come running back into His arms, even in the shadow of failure?
Will you hear the lovesong God is singing over you?
You are my dove, my perfect one, unique.
You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;
you have stolen my heart
with one glance of your eyes.
All beautiful you are, my darling;
there is no flaw in you.
How delightful is your love, my sister, my bride!
How much more pleasing is your love than wine,
and the fragrance of your perfume than any spice.
How beautiful you are, my darling!
Oh, how beautiful
~Song of Songs 4 & 6
I think sometimes we believe that either God must not love us, or He must be completely oblivious to the sin and shame that chains us down. For who could love one so wretched, so undeserving as I? Sound familiar? Please hear this: Your Father loves you. Love that recognizes and knows your failures, but that defines you by the good alone! Believe me, God knows and can see the good. He created it!
How much longer must the Father plead and beg of us to accept this? How many more tears must He cry for you to know the truth?
"I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired men.' So he got up and went to his father.
But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
The son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
But the father said to his servants, 'Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let's have a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.' So they began to celebrate." ~Luke 15:19-24
To Him be the Glory
